Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't find an answer you to your question here, please check our support and feedback community at Get Satisfaction.

Q: How does “Baby” know how long to book for each of my appointments?

A: During your sign up process Baby will ask you various specific questions pertaining to your own booking style. You will simply adjust the “time slider” to record the length of time each service takes you. Baby will book all future appointments accordingly.

Q: Do I still have control over my book? Meaning what if I don’t want my client “Heather” to book that 1pm appointment on Tuesday, even though it’s available?

A: Your virtual assistant “Baby” will immediately notify you via email/text message every time a new appointment has been booked online. Within this notification,”Baby” will give you the option to deny/cancel any appointment you decide not to accept. If you deny the appointment your client will receive an immediate auto reply via email/text message from “Baby” notifying them of the “scheduling conflict” and she will politely ask them to choose another appointment. Waa-Lah! You still have the final say with every appointment.

Q: How do I handle booking an appointment in person with a client at my shop or when I’m out and about? How do I know if the appointment my client is requesting is available?

A: No problem doll! Just be sure to have your cell phone near by.

The physical appointment book that you keep with you can always be kept up to date because you will be notified via text message every time a new online appointment is booked. Be sure to add those appointments listed in your text messages to your book. If you had a busy day and didn’t have time to check your texts then review your texts as you book with the client in person to be sure the appointment they are requesting in indeed available. If you yourself physically book a client in person and happen to get a online booking for that same slot shortly after simply cancel/deny within the text notification and Baby will deny the online appointment and ask your client to choose another. You or your client can import their appointment later on your dashboard to remove the open appointment from the system.

Q: I don’t have access to the internet on my phone or at the shop. Can I still use Baby to book my appointments?

A: Absolutely! Many of us do not have internet access at our salon, nor do we have the time to log in during a hectic day. This is where the text message feature comes in handy. Baby will keep you updated minute by minute, with no requirement for internet access while at the salon.

Q: Do my clients have to pay to use this service?

A: No, it’s completely free for all your clients to use this service once you (the stylist) sign up as a user ($30 monthly)

Q: What if I or my client doesn’t have the text message feature on our phone?

A: In addition to text messages Baby also sends notifications via email. So text message option is not required. However, we strongly suggest you add the unlimited text message feature to your mobile plan if you do not already have one. This will help you utilize Baby to her full capacity.

Q: Do I have to print my schedule everyday? How do I “USE” this service exactly?

A: No, you do not need to print your schedule unless that is the method you prefer. Many stylists carry their own book with them and have a close love / hate relationship with it. Either way it’s a relationship and we understand how stylists like to work. Be sure to jot down the appointments Baby texts you and in return your book still serves as your actual appointment book. Remember, BookmeBaby.com was created by stylists for stylists so we understand first hand what works best for you and have bared that in mind when developing every one of Baby’s features.

Q: How do my clients know exactly what to book for? For example, my client Heather goes to my profile page to book her touchup online and isn’t sure if she should book for a “Partial highlight re-touch” or a “full highlight re-touch” because she doesn’t understand the “hairdresser jargon” listed in my services section?

A: Baby’s got you covered, for this reason we added the service description box for each service you offer. During the sign up process Baby will ask you to describe each service. We suggest you describe each of your services in a very detailed and customer friendly way. Try to avoid “Hairstylist terms” break it down into plain English for your clients. This will allow your clients to clearly understand what type of service they need. When your client’s mouse over each service listed within your profile page a drop down menu will appear and describe the service. Click here to view an example stylist profile which displays how to describe services in a simple way.

OR

A2: Next time your client is in your chair and you tell her that you are now even more fabulous because you have a virtual assistant ,follow it up with and ‘you would book for a Partial highlight retouch, if you would like to rebook this look’.

Q: Can I book 2 appointments at once? For example, a cut on one client while another is processing?

A: No, in order for Baby to keep your book clean and organized she will not offer clients the option to book over each other. But by no means does this mean this is no longer an option. If you would like to do a quick cut while another client is processing you can pencil this extra appointment within your physical book.

Q: Can new clients I have never met book with me online?

A: Yes! Another great feature of bookmebaby.com is the public can “search for a stylist” whether new or existing by name, zip code, city and state. This is a great way for old clients to find you and new clients to see your work and book with you.

Q: Can I customize what appointments I do not want booked back to back? Example; extensions booked back to back is too much work for me. I may shave someone’s head out of exhaustion.

A: Yes, during the sign up process Baby will ask you “which services do you wish not to book back to back or on the same day. Once you have answered She will graciously abide to your request and never book those services accordingly.

Q: Do I have to sign a contract? I hate contracts. Are there additional fees? I hate additional fees even more. Sometimes I like to bail just because.

A: Don’t we all. Bookmebaby.com will always operate with NO contracts NO cancellation fees and NO setup fees.

Q: When I set my daily hours of operation (for example) 9am — 5pm, does Baby view the 5pm as I am out the door at 5pm, or that I take my last appointment at 5pm?

A: Baby will view 5pm as the time you are leaving for the day.
